NATO Days 2018

On 16 April-1 May NATO Days was marked for the 11th time in Georgia. In the frames of NATO Days seminars, lectures, competitions as well as other educational and informational events was held: Seminar "NATO-Choice for Peaceful and Stable Development" for teachers living in the villages near the occupation line; Rugby tournament; traditional project for media representatives - "One Day as a Soldier" and many others.

 

This year, NATO Days was marked in Tbilisi, as well as in 8 regions of Georgia (Kakheti, Shida-Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Adjara, Samegrelo, Imereti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kvemo-Kartli). Within the initiative of the Information Center on NATO and EU and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia various activities were held in the regions, in order to raise awareness and engagement of local population in Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration process.

 

Diverse informational and educational events was held for representatives of ethnic minority settlements and population of villages near the occupation line, including competitions, sports activities, entertaining events and meetings within the participation of the executive officials and experts.

 

This year, NATO Days was organized by LEPL Information Center on NATO and EU in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the support of NATO Liaison Office and the Embassy of Bulgaria (NATO Contact Point Embassy) in Georgia.

NATO Days 2017

Georgia celebrated 10th anniversary of NATO Days this year.

Information Center on NATO and EU launched NATO Days On April 2, during which the public had the possibility to enjoy diverse entertainment and educational events.

NATO Days continued till April 11, in the frames of which many different events and activities took place, including NATO-Georgia Public Diplomacy Forum, Seminar for teachers residing in the villages located along the Occupation Line, NATO Football Cup, Wall Painting Competition „შეNს ქალAქს დაუTOვე“ (Leave to your city) throughout Georgia, One Day in Army, public lectures and other interesting events.

NATO Days were organized by the Information Center on NATO and EU in partnership and support of the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, the Ministry of Defence and NATO Liaison Office in Georgia.

NATO Days 2016

This year traditional celebration of NATO Days was marked with exceptionally diverse events and activities. From 4th till 24th of April, more than 3000 citizens of Georgia participated in about 80 events delivered by the Information Center on NATO and EU and had the possibility to get informed on the current developments of NATO-Georgia partnership.

NATO Days 2016 was launched with the Public Diplomacy Forum, traditionally organized in Brussels and held in Georgia for the first time this year. The forum participants discussed current trends in the area of public diplomacy and strategic communication and elaborated over the strategies to fight against the increased anti-Western propaganda in the Region.

In the frames of NATO Days various events took place in Tbilisi as well as in the regions, including the seminar for teachers of ethnic minorities from Samtskhe-Javakheti region, inauguration of Akhalkalaki Bureau of the Information Center on NATO and EU, lecture halls in the Universities, lectures for students delivered by the invited speakers, “One Day in Army”, the project implemented for Media representatives, etc.

NATO Days 2015

In 2015 NATO Days commenced on October 25th with the official ceremony dedicated to the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Information Center on NATO and EU and continued with diverse events and activities till November 8th.  

The President of Georgia, the representatives of the legislative and executive branches of the government of Georgia, experts and the representatives of accredited diplomatic corps were actively involved in the celebration of NATO Days. The fifth Regional Bureau of the Information Center on NATO and EU was inaugurated in Gori, the meeting was held between Media representatives and incumbent, as well as, former Heads of the Mission of Georgia to NATO, the meeting between school students and the Georgian soldiers, participating of ISAF mission,  was organized, etc. Furthermore, the youth debates, conferences, exhibitions, intellectual games, excursions, etc. were held throughout the week.   

The project “Back to School” was implemented, owning to the initiative of the Information Center on NATO and EU, within which the high ranking officials payed visits to the schools they are graduates of and hold information meetings in their respective schools with students and teachers on Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia. NATO Days were closed on November 8th with “NATO Cup”, a football competition for media representatives.

NATO Days 2014

NATO Days in Georgia took its start on April 7, 2014, launched with the official opening ceremony dedicated to the last three enlargements of the Alliance. In the frames of the event international conference “Road to NATO: Sharing Integration and Membership Experience” was organized.

NATO Days continued with various interesting events and activities: “Serving for Georgia” - photo exhibition was presented, depicting the history of the Georgian Army development, study tour to Tbilisi for the youths from Kvemo Kartli region and open door events to the Police Academy and the Embassy of Romania were organized for the volunteers, information meetings were held for students and teachers, etc.

In the frames of NATO Days green action was organized in Marneuli, where the Information Center on NATO and EU initiated to plant 150 trees. NATO Days was closed on April 16th

NATO Days 2013

NATO Days was officially launched on June 3, 2013. It was opened with the international seminar “Informing Public on NATO Integration Process” which was carried out with the participation of high ranking officials from NATO Headquarters and the representative of NATO aspirant countries – Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Macedonia. 

 

In the frames of NATO Days information meetings with student audience and the civil society representatives was carried out; sports activities, summer seminar for journalists, photo exhibition on the participation of Georgia and Romania in the international peace-keeping missions, various competitions and debates took place in Tbilisi and the regions. The celebration was closed by the International Youth Summit on June 10th.
