Deputy Ministers for Foreign and European Affairs of Georgia and Western Balkan countries have visited the Information Centre
October 3, 2023
The Information Center on NATO and EU under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the Deputy Ministers for Foreign and European Affairs of Georgia and Western Balkan countries (Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia) visiting Georgia.
The event was moderated by the Director of the Information Center, Tamara Tsuleiskiri.
Within the framework of the meeting, the representatives of the Western Balkan countries shared the experience in the European integration process and spoke about the importance of creating a common agenda comprising the issues of common interest.
About 40 students from different universities of Tbilisi attended the panel discussion.
Noteworthy, the meeting was held within the framework of consultations regarding the ongoing European integration process. The main purpose of the consultations between the Deputy Ministers for Foreign and European Affairs of Georgia and the Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and North Macedonia) is to share the experience in the process of European integration and to coordinate the steps to be taken towards European integration. Establishing consultation formats at various levels with Western Balkan countries is an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which gained greater importance after the European Council granted Georgia the European Perspective and, in the wake of this decision, Georgia moved into the enlargement package.
