Seminar on European Integration Issues for Beneficiaries of the Center for Spiritual and Intellectual Development of Youth at the Patriarchate of Georgia

With the joint cooperation of the Information Center on NATO and the EU of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Union “21st Century”, a seminar on European integration issues was held for the beneficiaries of the Center for Spiritual and Intellectual Development of Youth at the Patriarchate of Georgia.

During the seminar which gathered about 40 young participants, Tamara Tsuleiskiri, Director of the Information Center on NATO and the EU, spoke about the significance of increasing public awareness of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, strengthening resistance against anti-Western disinformation, and the role of young people in this process.

Paata Gachechiladze, the chairman of the “21 Century” Union, focused on the existing models of state-church relations in the European Union space and on the protection and respect of different denominations.

Within the framework of the seminar, the invited experts talked about the history of Georgia-EU cooperation, the importance and benefits of the candidate status, the opportunities for international mobility of the Erasmus+ program and the means of participating in it.

The seminar was held within the framework of the project “Raising Public Awareness and Resilience” funded by the U.S. State Department, which is implemented by the Information Center on NATO and the EU together with the United States Embassy in Georgia.
