The seminar “Communicators for more communication” held within the framework of NATO Days

On October 28-29, a two-day seminar: “Communicators for more communication” is being held at the Information Center on NATO and EU under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, within the framework of NATO Days 2019.
The seminar envisages holding working meetings for the heads of public relations services of Georgia’s different regional administrations regarding the Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.
The goal of the project is to facilitate the creation of an effective network of communication between the NATO and EU Information Center and local government representatives for the dissemination of coordinated messages, as well as for the development of policy and implementation of measures.
Tamara Tsuleiskiri, the Director of the NATO and EU Information Center under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Despina Afentouli, the Program Officer at the Engagement Section, NATO Public Diplomacy Division addressed the participants of the seminar.
In her speech, Tamara Tsuleiskiri talked about the involvement of civil servants in Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, in general, and the need to raise their awareness about this process. She also focused on the importance of coordinated communication with the target group.
During two days, participants will hear reports on the goals and objectives of the North Atlantic Alliance, the achievements and challenges of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, NATO-Georgia cooperation mechanisms, the role of communication for NATO and methods of combating against propaganda, Georgia’s participation in peacekeeping missions, the importance of engaging the public in the process of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, cyber defence and NATO approaches in this regard.
