Target group: public and private school teachers

Project goal: inform teachers on the goals and objectives of NATO, ongoing developments in NATO-Georgia relations, and Georgia’s role in building global security.

Project description:

The educational-cognitive seminar for teachers has been held for the fourth consecutive year already. Teachers from different regions of Georgia are participating in the project together with their colleagues from Tbilisi. During two days, the participants meet representatives of the NATO Liaison Office and government agencies, as well as ambassadors and experts of NATO member states to gain insights into the history of NATO, learn about the latest developments around it and discuss issues relating to  cooperation between NATO and Georgia.

The project has a continuous character and has already been carried out 14 times to include teachers based in Tbilisi as well as in Guria, Samegrelo, Imereti, Kakheti, Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli and Dusheti regions. Teachers of history, geography and civic education are involved in the seminar. At this stage, a total of 420 teachers have been trained.

It is planned to hold 3 more seminars by the end of 2016.
