Within the framework of the project, seminars on Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration of were held during the summer holidays for the young people internally displaced from Abkhazia.
The project includes both educational and cultural-cognitive components. Within its framework, more than 300 young people displaced from different districts of Abkhazia visited Mtskheta, Vani, Sataplia, Zugdidi and Batumi and, along with making tour of the country, received information about the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.
Within the framework of the project, attention was focused on such issues as human rights, tolerance and Georgian culture forming the part of the common European traditions and values.
The goal of the project is to enhance the young people’s awareness about Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and their involvement in this process.
The project is implemented by the Information Center on NATO and EU jointly with the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and the Agency for Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs.
Young people are one of the main target groups of the information center, and providing them with information about the key priorities of Georgia’s foreign policy – European and Euro-Atlantic integration – is extremely important, because young people will themselves be participants of these processes in the near future, and most importantly, they act as a kind of bridge between their peers and the older generation.
