Summer School of the Information Center on NATO and EU

European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia

12-16 June, Tbilisi

The Information Center on NATO and EU invites undergraduate and postgraduate students from higher education institutions to participate in the Information Center’s summer school.

Goals of the Summer School:

  • Informing students about the issues relating to Georgia’s integration into NATO and the European Union;
  • Increasing students’ involvement in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.

The curriculum of the summer school includes the following topics:

  • European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia
  • The importance of public involvement in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia;

NATO

  • North Atlantic Alliance – NATO, History of NATO
  • NATO-Georgia relations, perspectives and challenges, new opportunities for NATO membership
  • Georgia’s participation in international peacekeeping missions

EU

  • History of the European Union
  • Georgia-EU relations, implementation of the Association Agreement
  • DCFTA and rural development;
  • Liberalization of the visa regime
  • Myths about the European Union;
  • methods of anti-Western propaganda;

During the summer school, students will meet representatives of state agencies, heads of the Information Center on NATO and EU, invited experts. The participants will hear reports on the issues relating to European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia, European values, future prospects and aspirations of the country.

Mandatory requirements:

  • The candidate should be an undergraduate or graduate student of the Faculty of International Relations, Social and Political Sciences, Law, Humanities and Economics.
  • English language skills are desirable
  • The candidate’s interests and future profession  should be in line with the disciplines of the summer school.

* Lectures will be given in Georgian

Upon completion of the summer school, the graduates will be awarded certificates. Successful graduates will be able to do internship at the Information Center on NATO and EU.

Participation in the project is free.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed.

25 participants will be selected through the interview.

Lectures will be delivered from 12 to 16 June; The duration of each lecture – 2 hours.
