Summer School of the Information Center on NATO and EU
European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia
17-19 July Tbilisi
The Information Center on NATO and EU invites students (grades 9-12) of public and private schools of Georgia to participate in the Summer School of the Information Center.
Goals of the Summer School:
- Informing students about the issues relating to Georgia’s integration into NATO and the European Union;
- Increasing students’ involvement in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.
The curriculum of the summer school includes the following topics:
- European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia
- The importance of public involvement in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia;
NATO
- North Atlantic Alliance – NATO, History of NATO
- NATO-Georgia relations, perspectives and challenges, new opportunities for NATO membership
- Georgia’s participation in international peacekeeping missions
EU
- History of the European Union
- Georgia-EU relations, implementation of the Association Agreement
- DCFTA and rural development;
- Liberalization of the visa regime
- Myths about the European Union;
- methods of anti-Western propaganda;
During the summer school, the participants will hear reports on the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia, European values, future perspectives and aspirations of the country.
Mandatory requirements:
- The candidate should be a student (grade 9-12) of international public or private schools.
- English language skills are desirable
- The candidate’s interests and future profession should be in line with the disciplines of the summer school.
* Lectures will be given in Georgian
Upon completion of the summer school, the graduates will be awarded certificates.
Applications should be submitted by 18:00, 7 July, by visiting the specified link.
Participation in the project is free.
Short-listed candidates will be interviewed.
25 participants will be selected through the interview.
Lectures will be delivered from 17 to 19 July; The duration of each lecture – 2 hours.
