Project Activities

A two-day cycle of tours for up to 120 young people and school teachers from regions densely populated by ethnic minorities (Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti-Pankisi Valley). The cycle of cultural-educational tours includes such activities as seminars, discussions, visits to state agencies and embassies, excursions to cultural-educational institutions, etc. Representatives of the government and diplomatic corps, community experts will be invited as speakers at the seminars. Project beneficiaries will learn about the ways the government agencies and diplomatic missions function, the importance of European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the tangible benefits brought about by this process. The concept of the tours emphasizes that Georgian culture is part of the common European tradition and values – for this purpose, participants will visit museums and participate in relevant cultural events and activities.

The programme is implemented in four cycles with a duration of three months in the regional offices of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo-Kartli, Kakheti, Shida Kartli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti and Adjara. Within the framework of the internship programme, a total of 28 young people will be given a unique opportunity, to deepen their knowledge of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, on the one hand, and, on the other, to get employment in the Centre’s  regional offices and to gain important experience for future career growth, as well as to contribute to stronger ties between the Information Center and the local youth.

Within the framework of the project, students’ debate clubs will be created in 70 schools of Georgia to participate in the tournament of debates on NATO and EU integration. A total of 250 students and 70 teachers will improve their media literacy, debating critical thinking skills, learn about the ways to fight against misinformation, and enhance their understanding of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.

40 visual banners (infographics, posts) and 6 informative videos will be prepared and distributed. 10 analytical blogs will be created; Up to 500,000 people will be reached through the social media campaign.

As part of the project, a research and analysis of the functional skills and needs of the Information Centre on NATO and EU will be carried out. Taking into account the rapidly changing information environment and new challenges, this process serves to improve the Centre’s structure, operating mechanisms and efficiency.

25 employees of the Centre will be trained within the two-week intensive project management course. Improving the knowledge and skills of employees is essential to the effective functioning of the Centre.

At the final phase of the project, the impact analysis of the following project will be assessed:

  • “Increasing awareness of Western integration and engagement in the regions of Georgia” (Phase I)
  • “Increasing awareness of Western integration and engagement in the regions of Georgia” (Phase II)
  • “Building an informed and resilient society”

The impact analysis will assess key achievements and make recommendations to sustain targeted efforts in areas critical to Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration process.
